KXIP vs RR, IPL 2019: Ravichandran Ashwin's mankading act to run out Jos Buttler trolled badly by Twitterati

Kings XI Punjab Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin’s mankading act to run out Rajasthan Royals batsmen Jos Buttler is badly trolled by the cricket fans. Rajasthan Royals vs Kings XI Punjab match was played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday, where KXIP won the match by 14 runs.

The incident took place in the 13th over when Sanju Samson was on strike and Jos Buttler was at non-striker end. Jos Buttler was taking startup and Ashwin was bowling his last over, he stopped and took the bails off before bowling the delivery, which made Jos Buttler Run Out and stunned.

The term mankading was used earlier in 1947, when Indian Cricketer Vinoo Mankad did the same with Australian cricketer Bill Brown during the Test match at Sydney Cricket Ground. Mankading is said to be the situation when bowler runs out the batsman who leaves the crease without ball being bowled.

The Twitterati is trolling Ashwin badly, for his move along with the International Cricketers, especially England players.

Ashwin, that’s shocking behaviour! Very disappointed to see that.— Jason Roy (@JasonRoy20) March 25, 2019

I can’t believe what I’m seeing!! @IPL Terrible example to set for young kids coming through. In time I think Ashwin will regret that.— Eoin Morgan (@Eoin16) March 25, 2019

Huge respect for @ashwinravi99 an all time great of Indian cricket.
Which is why I felt what happened was just not cricket; there is a reason as @BishanBedi says cricket is special. today, you won the game, spirit was lost. Next time, warn the batter before Mankading! #RRvsKXIP— Citizen/नागरिक/Dost Rajdeep (@sardesairajdeep) March 25, 2019

Ashwin that’s not a sportsman spirit(cricket spirit)

My opinion is Ashwin should have warned Butler at least once before Mankading him. What do you all feel? As skipper he played within the rules but did he violate the spirit of the game?— Boria Majumdar (@BoriaMajumdar) March 25, 2019

#ashwin mankading #butler destroys the very spirit of the game…
I just about winning the match by hook or crook….

All for Mankading but what Ashwin has done is wrong. He paused and waited for Buttler to leave crease which goes against the spirit of the game.

Dickwella in 2017 was fined for a similar stumping attempt. He waited for batsman to leave the crease before breaking stumps. #RRvKXIP— Mazher Arshad (@MazherArshad) March 25, 2019

#Ashwin is very clear about #Mankading #RRvKXIP pic.twitter.com/Cez8nDxpZj— भाईसाहब (@Bhai_saheb) March 25, 2019

Well Mr. @ashwinravi99, this is not mankading! #JosButtler was well inside the crease at the point of delivery. #Ashwin deliberately stopped and waited for him to move out. Shameful that an International level bowler has to take wickets in this way. #RRvKXIP #IPL2019 pic.twitter.com/8Z3yay8DQB— Hingston Lovell (@meHingston89) March 25, 2019
