PL 2019: Steven Smith replaced Ajinkya Rahane for Rajasthan Royals for the rest 2019 campaig

For Rajasthan Royals, Steven Smith has replaced Ajinkya Rahane for the rest of the Indian Premier League 2019. Likewise, Rajasthan Royals will be led by Australian batsman Steven Smith for the rest of the season. The decision came after the franchise decided to provide a fresh approach to the team to bring their 2019 campaign back on the track. Rajasthan Royals have won just two out of the eight matches.

Rajasthan Royals needs to will all the upcoming matches to be in the race of points table; one defeat and they will be out of the league following Royal Challengers Bangalore, the first team to be out of the 2019 campaign. Steven Smith has led the side earlier, in 2017 but wasn’t able to play the last season and to lead the side in this season due to the ban imposed on them. Steven Smith was accused in the ball-tampering case during the Test match in Capetown, South Africa.

Steven Smith after serving the one-year ban made a come-back with IPL 2019. Also, Smith has been named as a member of the 15-Man squad of Australia for ICC World Cup 2019. Australian batsman has a lot of experience in term of captaincy, but won’t be able to lead the Australia side, which is being presently led by Aaron Finch. Well! This was the past, the news is that Steven Smith has replaced Ajinkya Rahane as the skipper for Rajasthan Royals.
